HEALTHY BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

Image
Water is known as the elixir of life, with good reason. Every system in your body needs it to survive. "Water regulates our body temperature, keeps our joints lubricated, helps prevent infections and delivers nutrients to our cells," said registered US dietitian and CNN contributor Lisa Drayer. "Additionally, our kidneys and liver work hard to get rid of toxins in our bodies, and they depend on water to do their job." Water makes up about 60% of your body's weight, and although you can survive without food for weeks, dehydration can kill you within days or even hours, depending on the temperature and your environment. Dehydration means more water is moving out of your body's cells than into them. And as this happens, it's not just water that you lose. Small amounts of electrolytes critical to cell function and energy, such as sodium and potassium, are lost along with the water. You're constantly losing water and electrolytes throug...

PROTEIN STOPPING VIRUS DEVELOPMENT DISCOVERED

Researchers at University of Western Scotland have discovered a protein that can stop viruses from Developing. The team had already established that the same protein can suppress cancer. Now the fight is on to fully understand how it works in the hope of turning the laboratory research into a treatment. The protein is called Hira. Technically it is a histone chaperone complex, but it is easier to understand in terms of what it can do. Three years ago Dr Taranjit Singh Rai and colleagues at the Beatson cancer institute and Glasgow University reported that Hira could suppress the uncontrolled division of cells that causes cancer. So far, so exciting. But in the course of that research Dr Rai spotted something intriguing. "If you want to study cancer you use viruses to deliver the mutations into the cells," he says. "But every time when I used to use viruses, this protein Hira moved to a new place. Which made me think maybe it has something to do with viruses...

LIFE!

There has always been someone on the planet who holds, or "anchors," the energy of the Mystical Traveler here so that all can partake of it. It is almost a mechanical action, and because someone holds the energy, the energy is available to all. As an analogy, apples on a tree are available for all who come by, because the apple tree is there. To partake, of course, you have to be aware of where the tree is and, also, to want apples. If you do not want apples that day, you do not have to have them. - John-Roger
